Can't talk in ventrilo when playing Halo

Hello, my friend and I have set up ventrilo and we have a server, everything is fully functioning, except for one thing. He can talk when we are playing Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo: Custom Edition, and I can hear him, but he can't hear me when I'm talking. I am using a Saitek GH30 headset. Can anybody help me with this problem?

edit: my push to talk key is bound to F12, if that matters.

Yes, I've tried/checked both of those things.

Does Halo have an online faq that might help ? Or a Halo forum where you can ask ?

You must run ventrilo as administrator while in any full screen game for the most part or you will not be able to talk.

Find your Ventrilo .exe that you use to launch the program and right click on it.Locate it in your programs menu or by navigating to your appropriate directory. Select PROPERTIES. In your properties window select the compatibility tab. Look towards bottom of the window where it says (privilege level) and select run as administrator. Click ok and your done.

Now every time you run the program windows user account control ( UAC ) will now ask you if you wish to allow the program to run. You can also disable this in security features of Vista but I do not recommend doing so unless you know what software and things you want having access or running on your pc.

Good luck.
