| Vista Home Premium 64bit | Can't run browser games.. I play this one game called Runescape and well it doesnt require more than a computer back from 2000 and dial up. Well anyway... I can't play HD anymore on it because of the massive lag every couple seconds for a couple months now. This is a Windows Vista Home Premium laptop, less than a year old. I did all the updates& upgrades I could for anything to do with internet or gaming, I did virus scans, disk clean ups, defrag, increased my BIOS to 128 (I think), reformatted, deleted programs I don't use. I even got a cooler and got the laptop cleaned. Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard Model: HP Pavilion dv2700 Notebook PC Processor: AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 TL-60 2.00GHz Memory (RAM) 4:00GB System type: 64bit Nvidia graphics card MPC67M I used to be able to run full screen games on this laptop like CounterStrikeSource or SRO so I don't know what the problem is. I noticed that the CPU usage goes to the massive 90%s when I'm on HD, and is on like 60% on SD! |

| Vista Ultimate x64, SP2 | Re: Can't run browser games.. Hello Jenniii, Does this happen on all games or just on Runescape ?. I will give you a couple of links, can you run these two programs and post your results, run Malwarebytes first, then CCleaner, (backup your registry when prompted). Malwarebytes.org CCleaner - Download Try these and get back to us, thanks. Also go to, start > run > and type "msconfig", hit enter and go to the startup tab, take a look at the programs listed there and uncheck anything you don't need, (any program can be started by you at anytime manually). Then look at services, check the "hide all Microsoft services" and take a look at what is left, uncheck anything you don't need. Try this and get back to us. |
