Re: cod5 and fraps

nice one theres a new version out in the members area (you can monitor and record you desktop with it anyway thats beides the point ha ha) this is the one im having an issue with

if i use it to monitor fps gaming online with cod 5 i get kicked by punkbuster wuth an "invalid system file/memory" can you see if its the same for you please

i mailed FRAPS they said it was punkbuster causing the issue and it needed to be updated their end which is fine , but this was a while ago and its still happening , thing is fraps and PB are fine in every other online game i have is just cod5

i need fraps to make some movies of cod5 i can download the older version again im just wondering if anone else aving this issue

seems to be working fine on my end archie, i have the steam version of cod:waw(shouldnt really make a difference), ive set it to record about 1 minute at 1920x1080 @ half size 60fps, have you tried changing the default directory for saving movies to a different hard drive, it might just be having a hard time trying to write information to your primary hard drive, ive noticed that you get a slightly higher framerate while recording when you do this as well
heres the video i made
You messed up try again

Re: cod5 and fraps

oh and thats the newest version from the members area , 2.9.9 ? what about when monitoring fps? Im fine with the last version its just this one , but with this version now being able to monitor the Vista DWM i dont really want to roll back

that is a PB monitored server is it??

i hate punkbuster , theres no point in contacting them they NEVER reply , ill contact fraps again they seemed pretty good

it dont matter where i save the movies mate its punkbuster thats kicking me off the server with fraps running i aint tried recording a movie yet as i get booted by PB before i get chance , no fraps running no problem

do you play online much? im on most nights 6.30.till 8.00 whats your gamer name? ill add you too my friends list im Archie1970

thanks for your help have you noticed our rigs are very similar :P

its not the latest version, its 2.9.4, the framerates came up at 60fps(got vsync on all the time, cant stand vertical tearing), it can monitor desktop and record DWM with it, i made a few videos with that aswell lol, it was punkbuster enabled that server, might be a bit different with more payers, just joined a random server with punkbuster on it. I can only imagine it being an issue with the game, re-install?

Re: cod5 and fraps

thats why then , the old version doesnt have that issue , its just the new version , ill roll back for now its not the game the game is fine its the anticheat punkbuster , punkbuster kicks me i get the message corrupt system files/memory if i disable fraps i can play online fine

edit.........i just heard back from fraps thay said it was definately a punkbuster issue they have informed punkbuster of their new version but PB didnt do anything yet , the problem is specific to COD5 and FRAPS no other punkbuster game is affected

you do realise you can update to the latest version for free? once you paid all the updates come for nowt you just need to log into the mebers area (not that you want this version yet its buggy )

i tend to just keep to tried and tested methods lol, ive not had any problems with this version and the newer version doesnt really give me any advantages over this one... i would give the 2.9.4 version a spin archie and see if thats ok for you
