Half life 2 source Engine Problem (vista)

Hi, I am having touble with Garrys Mod, CSS 2, HL2, basically all programs powered by the HL2 engine. I got a message when i loaded my account (have vista) that said there were problems with the HL2 engine. So I tried to load Garrys Mod, HL2, and CSS and everytime i do while it loads the screen goes black and it says powering safe mode and it keeps saying that every 15 seconds. So basically i am having major trouble with this problem so i googled it and looked over a bunch of sites and still never found a soultution. I made sure all my drivers and stuff was up to date. So please if you have any help for me please post, I am in desperate trouble.

Also just sometimes when i play hl2, garrys mod, or CSS it would random crash and minimize and vista would say vista is looking for a solution to the problem. It would happen every now and then and I had no idea about it.

Also I can run a bunch of games on steam that doesn't have the hl2 engine and i can run like wow and stuff off of steam to.

So please Help
Thanks
