Monitor goes black and the light flashes

Whenever I play a game like L4D or Tf2 my screen after 10-20min will go black and the green light with blink, I have a SyncMaster 172n monitor and I just got Vista and a new computer. If you need any other information just ask.

Could be an overheat problem for your CPU or video card.

Re: Monitor goes black and the light flashes

Your monitor is going into sleep mode caused by either the computer telling it to go to sleep or a lack of signal from the video card.

Look at your power scheme settings.
Look at updating your drivers.
Run 3dmark and see if it does the same thing.
Look at the temps to see if it was as the advice above suggested.
Does a message apear on the screen about lack of signal before the monitor goes to sleep.
What is your graphics card and computer model.
Click on user CP and fill out your computer specs.

screansaver activates even while using gamepad

rumblepad2, screensaver activates while in game (V... - Logitech Forums

P.S. Not sure if they ever fixed that in SP2, but it has been fixed in Windows 7.
