Re: gta 4 help n system choice

GTA 4 is said to be even harder than Crysis in System requirements or resources, even good desktops suffered when playing this game. I don't know if the patches for the game have helped considerably in this department or not... I don't play the game.

$900.00 is quiet a lot for that laptop but I understand that things are slightly higher than there than here (US). I would suggest trying to build your own Desktop but, if it has to be a Laptop, then, stoney-nutz said... knowing the model of that laptop would help us help you better.

Re: gta 4 help n system choice

GTA4 is a resource hog, great game but SUPER demanding on the H/W.

personally i think it will run terribly on that laptop, on most laptops TBH, i use 4gb+ while playing this game, & ALL 4 of my cores sit @ 90-100%, this game is very CPU intensive, it'll turn that laptop into an oven in about 3 mins....

IMO, you'll only be able to properly enjoy this game @ decent settings & playable framerates on a well cooled, powerful desktop PC.

Re: gta 4 help n system choice

its not as if i dont like the quad-core, my problem is the amount of mony i have at hand, i have about $800-$900 to spend on a new laptop, so i'm kind of confused on which system to buy exactly.....though i'm thinking of the hp-hdx 16t premium series, i'm kinda woried about buying a laptop only to get it burnt or spoilt with gamming...........thanks

Re: gta 4 help n system choice

I know you want a notebook, but you get much more bang for the buck with a desktop you build.

bottom line is this.......

dont buy a laptop if your looking to game, unfortunately the budget you have is not that great, gaming laptops are VERY expensive, & still dont deliver like a desktop would.

i know this is not what you want to hear, but there is no laptop i could suggest for that price which will game well...

is there no way you can go for a desktop, or do you need it mobile..??

Re: gta 4 help n system choice

Good tips all I really don't like laptops for gaming.You can spend a whole lot less on a desktop but you dont get the portability.I bought my gateway quad core for like $850.I cant upgrade it much but I'm fat dumb and happy for a few years.I wish it had a little better video card but heh.60 fps solid even on HL2 mods isn't bad.

Onyi, TOUGH choices my friend... I feel for you.

Don't buy into the hype of a Gaming Laptop... you just can't cool a laptop fast enough.

Mobility = Laptop

Gaming = Desktop

Sure, there are multiple games you can do on a laptop... but not the games you want to play.

GTA 4 will run on that laptop. But just like everyone else has said, it will run badly.
