Problem with games on vista 64

Hi,

This is my first post here. I have a problem that I just couldn't manage to fix and I realy need some help.
I bought a new media center computer, AMD phenom 64, ATI 4800 series connected with cross fire, 8 GB memory.
Everything works perfectly except the games, I have installed PES 2009 and 2010 and Need for Speed Shift, while I play those games I get a sound in the backgroung of add and remove a new device, when I minimize the window I see no alerts I only hear the sounds. when I hear the sound (about every 3 seconds) the game stops and then resumes. I have checked the windows event viewer and there is no error alert, I have updated all my drivers and still no good news. I would really appreciate any sort of help fixing this problem and hopefuly to enjoy this expensive computer.

Thanks in advance,
Yoni

Re: Problem with games on vista 64

How long has this been happening ?, if it is just recently you could try a system restore, to a point before all this started.
I don't think it will be as easy as that but worth a go.

Does it do it on all games, and does it show up anywhere else ?.

Take a look at this tutorial, method two may help, and altering and then resetting the sound system may kick start it back to default.
I don't think it is the sound system itself, but lets eliminate it early on.

Also, take a look at what other programs are running in the background, (in start > run > type "msconfig" without quotes,) look at startup and services to see what is running, you may have an updater running.

Remove all but essential USB devices, just leave mouse and keyboard.

Look in "Device Manager" (Control Panel > System > Device Manager) and check there are no yellow triangles.

To check that all system files are OK, follow this tutorial.

This will keep you going for a bit, and now the post is revived, there may be more input.
Try my suggestion and post your results, good luck.
