| Vista Home Premium x64 SP2 | Re: games in vista Run as administrator? I'm not really sure how to help you right now, you'll have to give alot more detail... Um, and the cd going missing in your drive is strange, maybe someone took it out? Or try looking inside your PC case, it might have somehow (probably not) fallen out of the drive (pretty much impossible). Last edited by Madandfrustrate; 3 Weeks Ago at 11:04 PM.. | Vista x64 + Windows 7 x64 (Ultimate) | Re: games in vista Vista requires that everything must be installed with Elevated Admin Rights. In order to avoid having this issue, I did the following... your miles may vary 1.- Got myself a copy of Windows 7... still requires the Elevated Admin Rights but it seem to be more compatible with the games I play, the software I use and the hardware I have. 2.- Open Explore (not to be confused with Internet Explorer), go to the folder where the Executable file is (game or software), "Right Click" on the Setup file and use "Run as Administrator"... this will start the installation of the game or software with Elevated Rights. It may ask you to Allow or Cancel the execution 1 or 2 more times. If that doesn't work, your video card may not be able to meet the minimum requirements for that game and w/o knowing your system specs we can only speculate. Do you know whether you have the latest drivers installed or not? if you do, what version are you running? |

| vista home premiunx64 | Re: games in vista sorry to say but i have already tried that, all you have to do is google G50vt X5 to know that my video card is good enough, and i have updated all of my drivers also, i activated the built in administrator and it did not let me install |

| Windows 7 Ultimate x64/Vista Ultimate x64/XP Pro x86/Fedora 12 X64 | Re: games in vista Try changing the destination folder of where you are installing, by the look of it, you might be installing stuff into one of your temp folders. also turn off UAC or if it is off, turn it on and tell us if it makes a difference. User Account Control (UAC) Is it just this game or is it any game that your pc is having a cry about. your pc is doing some whacky things, not allowing you to install with full admin rights, making your fallout 3 disc disappear. it sounds like somethings seriously up with it. might be time to back up your docs and do a clean install if all else fails. try some more tips |
