Vista - battle for middle earth 2 Network setting

Hello everyon,

I am new to this game and i dont know how to do network setting of this game.

I have windows vista and my friend has Xp.
We have been trying to play online but it is not working.

I on the game and in multiplayer option i go in network and i dont really know what to do from there.
I tried to create a game and i created it but my friend is not able to see it in his game.
Then he tried to create a game but i wasnt able to see the game on my computer.
Maybe i am doing something wrong . Please help!!!
Can i find some kind of guide anywhere online? how to create a network game?
