The error I get is that this game is not compatible with Vista.


I let the online 'look for a solution' run, no result. I checked the game company, Gas Powered Games, and therte is no mention of this game. Version 2 of this game is mentioned, but I didn't notice any support.

I really like this game.



Any suggestons on getting it to play?

As for the game itself, it's not looking to good.

Is the error when you try to install, or when you try to play?



You could try the settings found in the compatibility Tab:

(right-click on the icon/.exe properties> Compatibility and try:

Run this program in compatibility mode for XP SP2
Disable Visual Themes
Run this Program as Administrator

and even:

Run in 256 colors
Run in 640x480 resolution

Example:


It's no guarantee it will work, but is worth a shot.

Install works fine, but not the play.

Did all that, I get an error.

"Error, Fatal Exception
HResult= -2147319779
InFunction
cInvoke Method2::Invoke"

I ofund a patch here: Microsoft Game Studios - Dungeon Siege

But it didn't fix it. Says some of my files are corrupt. They came right from the install on the original CDs.

Take a look at this, yours is at the bottom of the list. It should work.

March 2007 Windows Vista Application Compatibility Update

When i get this problem, i patch the game to the latest, and use a No CD patch, It doesn't always work, but in most cases it does.
Also, try launching from the .exe in the folder in Program Files and not the shortcut.

I am presently downloading a demo of Dungeon Siege II, just under a gigabyte. Slowing my computer way down, but large downloads do that.

I'll check the compatibility update next.

The demo is taking 'forever' so I am getting the compatibility update instead.

In the middle of the install, the update says it doesn't apply to my system.

I checked my windows updates icon, and installed some updates.

It no longer says incompatible with Vista, but I still get the error message I already mentioned about the Invoke Method 2.

I did double check on the 256 colors, etc. they are there.

After clicking about 3-5 times 'okay' button on the Invoke error, it says put the CD in the drive. Okay or cancel. The CD was in there. I tried some other CDsto make sure the drive is okay. They work fine.

I didn't try to complete the 900 meg download of the DS II demo.

Still unable to get it working.

I'll try downloading Dungeon Siege 2 demo and see if it works on Vista.
