can someone help i have home vista and game flight simulator ww11 europr series and would like to use it . But my microsoft sidewinder joystick will not pick up or controll the aircrafts.

1, Does Vista recognise the joystick ?. Go to > Control Panel > Game Controllers, and see if it is there.
2, Is there an option in the game to use Keyboard/Joystick ?

gone to control panel> Game controllers comes up with sidewinder can calibrate . on device manager does not show game controller. when loaded combat flight sim w11 try to enable joystick and assignment does not want to show joystick

Disable the SideWinder Game Device Profiler
If you use a SideWinder game controller, disable the SideWinder Game Device Profiler or SideWinder Game Controller software. To do this, right-clickGame Controller Software on the right side of the taskbar, and then click Unload or Disable.
Give it a try, have you checked to see if the game developers site has any fixes for this problem ?, as it's game specific, they may have a solution.

Using microsoft sidewinder (not force feedback) joystick is plug and play with usb does not have any software, joystick works with combat flight simulator 2 ww11 pacific theater.
But not in combat flight sim ww11 europe series. Tried above but only shows in vista calibrate cannot see anything in controller

This game came out in 2002.
I use a Logitech Attack 3 joystick with this game and it runs fine, so i would have to say yes, it should run OK, but, there are problems with this game/joystick combination though.
