NO Games will run at native resolution

I switched on my computer yesterday to find that my screen had 2 black borders above and below which was odd, so I tried auto-adjusting my monitor, which didnt solve the problem it stayed the same, I went into the Nvidia CP to reposition the screen and I could only move to replace the border on the bottom of the screen, the top was permanent, any way I solved this problem by adding custom resolutions on both the NCP and Vista properties only to fire up PES 2010, and find it was in 1600x1024, I looked in the PES 2010 settings to find that my native resolution (1680x1050) was not in the list, I also tried COD MW2 and Half Life 2 Ep2 and they also cannot display this resolution, only resolutions that a usual 16:9 monitor can.
1680x1050 is my native resolution and i have been using it for 2 years on 4 different computers including this one so what could the problem be?
It would be great if I could find the problem and not have to resort to manually changing the resolution on all my games in future.

I reinstalled the card manufacturer drivers and it still had the same problem, everything is at the right resolution but the moment I start up a game it cannot go onto the native resolution.

Any help would be appreciated thanks anyone

Corrupt drivers is the only thing I can think off. Have you tried uninstalling both Video & MOnitor drivers, restarting and installing fresh copies of both?

is that a monitor?
if so, don't find the drivers for that, try the graphic ones.

When I got my new Acer H233H monitor, I had a hard time finding a resolution that would work with Everquest and my monitor. I eventually got it to use a rez the monitor could display and the card could handle.

For my game play in Hero Online, the display auto-resizes to 800x600. And returns to what I have set in Vista when I exit the game.

You may have to just try different resolutions on the computer until you find one that gives you a good game display and a good display for everything else.

Well, this is funny, I know for a fact that I was able to find 64bit drivers for Acer monitors but I can't find any at this time. I will use the ones I am linking you to, making sure I grab the ones for the Vista Ultimate 32

Service & Support

For the Nvidia GTX260, you can use their latest drivers 195.62. Make sure you download them to a safe place (one you can get to it later).

If you are having problems with your monitor finding drivers then try generic drivers.
I use one for my benq monitor and it works well.
