Solved NWN keeps crashing on load-up

I have neverwinter nights loaded on my pc with both expansion packs.
it also has a hard update (i.e. manually downloaded .exe file) as teh self updater wouldn't find it, but now it keeps crashing on loadup where it shows developer logos.
please help.

What are your system specs?

You have an intergrated graphics processor but that shouldnt stop you from being able to run the game. your graphics chip is more than capable of running Neverwinter Nights.
Have you run it before on this computer successfully? if so then you might have to reinstall the game again.

yer, i used to be able to run it on an old dell inspiron 1150 running xp, but that was when the self installer worked, but the version i have now has a hard updeate, run from an .exe file. i have a feeling that is what caused it. i'll try running it in xp mode on 7 to see if it that, or just compatability errors.

If you reinstal the game and the self updater doesnt work, assign administrator rights to Neverwinter Nights. If it still doenst work, download and install manually from here

Try updating the autopatcher manually if its not working. If this fixes it, dont bother dowloading the patches for the game, just let the autopatcher do it for you like before on your old dell inspirion.
If the autopatcher still dont work, then just download the game updates from the links Ive provided and you should be good to go.
Dont forget to defrag your harddrive

thanks for the help but got it sorted, got it running under xp compatability mode in windows 7 and that has done the trick. i am very dissapointed that my pc is not good enough for NWN2 though.

Lol, glad you got it sorted. Seemed from your first post that you were running it fine, patched it manually and then the problem began.

already done that and i can't because of my integrated graphics card. it is unuspported. i also know cos i borrowed it off a friend.
