Sniper Elite Install fault

I haven't seen an answer to my problem but if I have missed it I apologise.

I have tried to install Sniper Elite on my Toshiba Qosmio with Vista Home premium running 64bit. It seems to install OK (and is supposedly Vista compatible) and as for many other games asks for a reboot when finished. When I click yes for the reboot Windows will not start properly and in fact automatically uninstalls Sniper Elite.

I will try and run compatibility mode when I get home tonight but thought if it is installing OK.........

Any suggestions ladies and/or Gents?

thanks

Is it uninstalling the entire game, or just components?

From a quick googling around, it seems as if it may be a Starforce protection issue (the XP driver is incompatible with Vista)

The only 'successful' mention I found of it working was to actually install a pirated version that has Starforce stripped

thanks for that seb. Unfortunately I live/work on a remote site in east Africa and because of that cannot get through our "firewall" etc to be able to find an unprotected game. I have contacted Rebellion but no answer yet.

OK - looks like the answer is to install the game. When StarForce asks for a reboot then answer no. Go to the StarForce website and download the latest Vista drivers. Go for a reboot and then try again - seems to work OK on mine.

Hope that helps somebody.
