Problems installing the original zoo tycoon on vista

I have a 32-bit operating system and I'm trying to install zoo tycoon on my vista laptop. The laptop just wont recognise the disk, I've tried going into my computer and looking for it there but that doesn't work. I put it on my friends vista computer and it did this, then it stopped doing it.

If you have any idea what's wrong, how to fix it please tell me.

Either the disc is now scratched / dirty or your laptops drive may be on it's way out.

Does it have a problem with reading any other discs?

'smarteyeball' is right. But I say, is the disk original and legit? If it is a pirated copy, or even a copied one from your friend's original, such problems are expected. Haven't you seen Sony's piracy videos on DVDs?

I have Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit) and I am able to run the same game perfectly well.
