Warcraft Reign of Chaos won't install

Hello, I have a problem with installing Warcraft III Reign of Chaos on my Windows 7 32-bit computer.

Whenever I insert my CD Rom into my hardrive, I go to the WCIII installation window and enter my CD-Key information. After I'm done locating the file to put the folder in, it freezes and says "Not Responding" on the Windows topmost bar.

It keeps on doing that for some reason and really gets annoying.
Anyone help?

Hello,

Can you please copy the entire CD/DVD to a folder on your Desktop then try to install using the installer on your Desktop. If you don't know how to do this, see here: Blizzard Support

Also, open Problem Reports and Solutions and tell me what the whole error message was. To do this:

1. Click on the Start Orb and then click on Control Panel. (All steps have screenshots below and you can click on any screenshot to enlarge it.)

2. Double click on "Problem Reports and Solutions".

2.JPG

3. Click "See Problems to Check" on the left hand pane. (N.B. Your window will not look exactly the same as mine)

4. Under your WofWIII setup, click "More Details". I do not have your exact installer in my list, so substitute my Installer for your installer name.

5. Copy everything in the red box on MY screenshot and paste it into a reply to this thread. Alternatively you could make a screengrab of the whole window and reply with that instead.

How to take a screengrab: How to use the Snipping Tool in Vista

6. Click "OK".

7. Check "Select All" and "Check again for solutions to other problems" then click "Check for Solutions". If any new solutions are found, particularly for WofWIII setup, open them up and see what they say.

Thanks,

Richard

blizzard stuff can be a right pain to install off disk. often the copy protection can bug out on certain brands of player or the player has to be region locked. what you can do is logon to your battle.net account and download and run the installer. another advantage of useing the installer is that many of the updates are already included.

Hey Richard

Sorry a bit late of a post but I can't seem to find the Control Panel's category of "Problem Reports and Solutions".

I might try and use the bnet installer.

Hello,

Are you under the Classic view, not the other option (see the pane on the left) Make sure classic view is selected in Control Panel.
