Game overlay problems with steam...desktop flicker

Hi all.

Steam Game UI Error video by dyrnwyn_images - Photobucket

This video shows a problem I've been having...along with the occasional minimizing of games launched or owned by Steam. It does not happen with non steam games. And after minimizing, the overlay flicker goes away.

I would really like to know wtf is going on here.

Latest drivers...vista 64, no viruses, SLI 285 GTX.

thanks

Does the game work after the flickering stops and you pull the window back up?

If I minimize the game and then maximize it...it goes away. Only happens with games launched in Steam. When I say overlay, I don't mean the steam community (sorry for that) because this happens periodically even with those features disabled.

i see your predicament, however, i cannot offer a solution to you, i have the same issue but just slightly differently, my game starts then minimises itself, it starts up again after i click on the taskbar, il upload a video and show you that you are not alone.

It's touch and go. Ive disabled intro movies on a couple of things and the problem happens less...but it still happens.
