Gaming Boosters for vista

So i recently read on the fourms that there
are such things as "game boosters" which are basically
programs which can help boost gaming performance.

I downloaded one called "game gain" only problem like
most programs it will require you to purchase it at a price
this one being $11. Not even sure this stuff works or not.
I just used it without unlocking the "extra" content and it
didnt seem to make much difference.

So just want to ask are there any "game boosters" which
are free and are good to use. And no! Im not asking for illegal
serial keys, just asking for a free game booster that doesnt require
a purchase

Thank you

Hello DAZZ9,
Game boosters have been tried before but very few are successful, you would be better turning off running services yourself.

Bottom line is, if your machine is not good enough to play a game then something like a game booster is not going to be of much help.
Unfortunately there is no good substitute for good hardware.

Having said all that, if you still want one try this one,

GameBoost - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com

Hope this helps, good luck and post your results.

Here are some really good programs that will get your PC running the way it was meant to run. Advance System Care v3.6.0, Security 360 v1.41, Game Boosterv1.4, Smart Defrag v1.45. All are Free and come from IObit.com. I have tried many of these types of programs and this is the best bundled packages I have installed, and they really work good, a lot of IT Tech people won’t tell you but they use Advance System Care Pro. From IObit. Try them if you don’t like them then delete them. Advance System Care comes with a lot of other utilities IE: the Game Booster, Smart Defrag, Disk Check, Disk Cleaner, Disk Doctor, File Shredder, Internet Booster, IObit Registry Defrag, Shortcut Fixer and Smart RAM. And it’s Free. You can upgrade to ASC Pro which does a little more on the auto side of maintenance but the free version is no less than it’s big brother, both get the job done. And that is making your PC run fast and smooth. The Game Booster lets you choose which programs running in the background you want to turn off and there is no rebooting after you choose and after your done playing you can turn them back on.

Upgraded the power supply to 600Watt, in order to get the Nvidia 8800 graphics card to run. And added 1GB of memory even through 32 bit Vista will not use it all.
