WASD keys unresponsive?

When I play certain games, (All on steam) I can't seem to use the WASD keys, Like they just WILL not do anything at all. Today I put a clean install of Vista on my comp (got help here with that actually) and so not all my games are reinstalled yet, just a couple to test. Before I reinstalled Vista I had the same trouble with the unrepsonsive keys. Mass Effect 2 was the main culprit, Now Killing Floor has joined in on the fun, I can use Esc to pause and I can bring up the steam overlay (I use shift + tab) and type messages just fine, even using the wasd keys there. But going back to the game, they refuse to repsond again. It's not ALL my games, it seems kinda random?

I've tried looking for the same problems on the web to find very similar if not the exact problem but they're always unanswered sadly.

Things I've tried are:

Installing keyboard drivers (Even though it shouldn't need them it's plug and play)
Updating video drivers.
Changing the key mapping in game and changing it back.

I think I read it could be either a keyboard problem or a Display problem?

The games work fine otherwise, I just can't move!

Any suggestions?

It's not stupid, don't worry. I did check that at first. It wasn't the keys though, I think the problem was the anti-virus program I had. It was Comodo. I'd tried disabling it plenty of times when installing and playing a game and that didn't work, then I took a chance and uninstalled it and the games worked perfectly! Changed my anti-virus to AVG and not had one problem since. Thank you anyway!

did you have just the antivirus or the whole suite? on finding anything suspect either the antivirus, firewall, defence+ or sandbox will ask your permission first before taking action. even if you choose a wrong decision you can still edit out the rule.

It was the whole suite I believe. Just the free version, but I made sure to allow anything that popped up regarding games, even just disabling it didn't work. Maybe it was something I was doing wrong, but uninstalling it worked. Shame really, I really liked Comodo. Chances are it was me doing something stupid though.
