I have a Dell Inspiron 530S computer running Vista Home Basic 32bit. Does the original Call of Duty work on this version of Vista? Are there any issues I should be aware of, and can they be solved?

Hello mm60745,
I have had COD running on my machine with no problems.
Install everything as administrator and run as administrator, in compatibility mode.
Should work fine, one of the best games ever, on-line used to be great, but not much going on now, just a few servers and players.
Hope this helps, good luck and post your results.
I used to have CoD 1 but i can't run it anymore for some strange reason, as many ppl withVista or 7 get the Mp_config.csv problem and i don't know any solution.
I can run COD 1 fine on my system (Vista Home Premium x64). It should run with no problems on yours as well, but if you do stumble upon something, just come back to the forum and we'll help you sort things out.
If you finish the campaign, and want to try something new, here's a mod that will change the weapons - Call of Duty Mod: 100 Mbps Fast File Download Servers
I edited the damage/ammo using PakScape, since the ammunition ran out so fast.
Have fun!
