Upgraded my computer to ultimate gaming but have questions

i recently upgraded my processor and board to
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition

    MSI 870A-G54 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

    A-DATA XPG Gaming Series v2.0 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

I only have 3GB/s on my hard drives but that means i can still hook them up right?
Another question is, anything specific which i should do once i install the ram and CPU for this board and processor? First time using a AMD proccessor

First of all, looks like a nice build. 3GB/s is fine for hard drive speed, the hard drive wont effect your in game performance that much anyway. As far as the cpu and ram go, you may have to update the bios on your motherboard to reconize the cpu since the amd 6 cores are still pretty new. If the cpu shows up as unknown in the bios or in windows, a bios update should fix it. Otherwise it should be strait forward.

I guess i just assumed you were goin to reformat the hard drive.

Youre going to have to refix your Vista install. It might need you to go back and call MS and have them reactivate your Vista.

You're gonna be screwed if you need a BIOS update, as you'll need a supported chip to do it. However a little google search says its supported:
    MSI Global

Its more, your system won't run properly as its totally confused about your Hardware. You just did 2 major switches, so Vista will be a bit annoyed.
