Hey guys, I've been doing quite a bit of looking on the web and can't find an answer for the life of me.
System specs:
Vista Home Premium x64
Service Pack 2
4 GB Ram
Intel duo core P8600 at 2.4 GHz
Radeon HD 3670

I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, updated to version 1.02 and I keep getting the same error whenever I try to start Assassins Creed.

Error message:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: AssassinsCreed_Dx10.exe
Application Version: 1.0.2.1
Application Timestamp: 48067113

Thats when I try to load it with Direct X 10.
Get a similar error when I try to load it with Direct X 9:

I've also tried to run the compatibility for Windows XP Service Pack 2 with no luck.
Any help would be great on this problem.
Thanks guys.

sorry for the late reply rock binder,i think it might be an issue with directx since every time you're getting the error, it appears to be a fault with DX9\10 modules, have you tried reinstalling DirectX10?

It's ok that your late to the party, but thats not the true problem anymore.
I've been working with Ubisoft for the last week and a half and was able to get that original error fixed by updating every piece of hardware on my computer though I can't say for sure what one did the trick.
Now I'm stuck on the "Cannot Find DVD-ROM;Please insert the correct disk and try again."
And before you ask, I've updated the firmware and drivers for my dvd drive as well as deleting the whole damn thing from my computer and re-installing.

no that im promoting it but you could use these handy no-cd cracks to play your game, update the game to 1.2 and make a copy of the executables in program files, thats the ones named AssassinsCreed_dx9.exe and AssassinsCreed_dx10.exe (place them into ubisoft root folder) and copy the executables in these zip folders below(virus scanned and checked) into assassins creed folder where your original executables were to start with, double click the shortcut and play away :)

Maybe your drive is damaged happened to me. If you ever have that you can use a mirror to run it. It's free and legal

Well running without the disk is what did the trick, any particular reason this happens?
protection is too hard, ubisoft are renown for using too much DRM protection on discs, im sure ubisoft released an update for a game recently and it was a hack (by a cracking team - team that makes no-cd cracks) that was rebranded, its a shame that ubisoft use this tech as its forcing the user to turn to illegal software to get their legitimate games to work!

MrNeeds

Edit, just looked it up and it was rainbow 6 vegas 2 that had the DRM problem and ubisoft used the "reloaded" teams' crack to fix the DRM protection issue
