problem installing games

Hi, I have lots of problems intalling games on my computer. We've got call of duty 4 modern warfare, it reads the disc, and I get like the first page but when I clic on install it shuts itself.

For the other games like ratatouille and battlefield bad company 2... it gives me the message (sorry it is in french !) : Window ne parvient pas à acceder au périphérique , au chemin d'accés ou au fichier spécifié. Vous ne disposez peut-être pas des autorisations appropriés pour avoir accés à l'élément. (like I am not autorisezed to open it ?)

I have Windows Vista Familiale Premium 64 bits, I don't know how where to find the infos about the RAM, the sound card...

with this should I be abble to install the games ? If so what do I do wrong ? Thanks for the help !

This is the starting point, make sure that you meet the minimum requirements for the gaame. Not all games are compatible with all computers.
The next step is to make sure the games are comatible with Vista
Windows Vista Compatibility Center
Make sure that your cd/dvd drive is working properly
Be sure that the DVDs are working properly.

so for the game : call of duty 4 modern warfare : it says 32bits compatible
does it mean that it is not compatible if one has 64 bits ?
It seams to me that all the new games we buy I have problems intalling them... ?
others CD/DVD games are working ok

If it says 32 bits, 64 may be a problem; but not usually the other way. Start with the compatiblity center and see what it says there.

One the compatibility center for the game call of duty it says :
32bits compatible
64bits : Status Unknown
do you think then that it can't play on my computer ? and it is not something I do wrong ? Thanks

Unknown can mean not compatible. It is not a sure thing that it is compatible. I would rather have it say not compatible, then we would be sure. Is it an old game? If so I would think that it has problems with Vista but there is not definite proof that it is not compatible and hence MS chose its words carefully.

If you have installed other games, I do not think that you did something wrong
Check the drives and the CD

Ok I understand. So I take this other game : Ratatouille
On the compatibility center it says : 64bits Compatible No action required
But I've tried many times and can't get it working !

I put the disc in the drive and a message with a red cross appears :

So I go in 'my computer' and clic execution automatique but still that message appears, I tried with right clic to open as admin but same... ?

Well my session should be the admin one ! Did I do something to change this somehow ? we have the computer divided onto 5 sessions... How could I put it bk as me being the administrator ? Thanks

Sorry you misunderstood
Even though you ARE the administrator, for security there is a big hidden administrator with a lot of power. You are not suppose to use that one except for problems like this.
