Medieval 2 + Patch

This is one of my favorite games ever. I am having problems installing the patch however. Anyone have any luck with this? I don't think Vista is registering as a game for some reason, because the path cannot detect the program, even when I run the patch from the Medieval 2 folder.

Be careful, it installed and then it crashed the game and I cannot install anything!

i had the same problem, it would install patch 1.1 but not the others. it would say the same thing. " this setup has detected that no version of medieval 2 total war is installed this update requries the previous version of the application be installed" if u find out theres a fix plz let me know, if i find one i will let u know.

Hey everyone I have the solution and unfortunately that solution is going to cost you about 20 bucks the only way to fix this problem that I or any other person I have talked too is by buying the expansion. It automatically updates the game during installation

I have the gold edition and that works fine. no probs with it at all!

i thought of that too. i just didn't wanna spend 20 buck. but if i return both mediveal 2 total war and the expansion i probaly would get a couple of bucks out it by selling to gamestop so it can go to buying the pack.

I got a new computer and i installed it on there. It worked just fine. The new computer is an acer, the one i used before is a gateway. the wierd thing is that both use amd turion dual processor and ati graphics card.
and I am loving the expansion pack!

I just received my Medieval 2 total war gold pack edition game and i realized that my computer wont recognize it as a game. I have a Windows 64 Bit and Im wondering, will this game work on a 32 bit. Also, what is this new patch everyone is talking about? Is it patch 1.1 or 1.2?

I have a 64 bit and 32 bit if i confused anyone.

The game is installed to a local drive right? And not a external drive?

Yes well im complaining that my game doesn't even start up. When you enter a PC game into the computer, the menu is supposed to pop up, usually with a button that says install. Then you choose where you want it to be located. However, when I pop my disc 1 of the Medieval 2 gold pack, it does not read it at all. The menu does not pop up and when i look at the DVD-CD Roms, they all say that they are empty.

people im really sorry for this huge necro but...

the problem skim is having im also having and im seriously looking for suggestions that may help :D
