Vista - Space action game recommendations

I am looking for a good shoot-em-up style game that involves flight action and preferably is a space adventure. I am not so much into Doom or Quake style games - I would much prefer a cockpit view flying through space shooting up aliens. Oh, and it must support MS joysticks.

Any suggestions?

Thanks daspeedz but are you absolutely sure it runs on Vista x64? It doesn't mention Vista compatibility in the ad.

Also, that seems to be version 1.x and not the latest 2.0. I can see that there are patches around to upgrade so that may not be a problem in itself. What do you think?

Hi again Qu0ll,

I have just reinstalled the game and patched it to 2.0.02 (the latest patch)
and it works fine in vista, and looks totally gorgeous too. I might have to get back into it now its installed

It has a link on the setup console for patches or get them from here in advance :- Search: X3 - GamersHell.com


There is also an extensive community out there with loads of advice and tips that I found :- X-Universe Forumlinks

I hope this helps , because for 16.00 Dollars (Cheaper than play.com!) its a bargain!

Ha ha, no I dont think so... not even on commission either!

X3 Reunion is one of the few games that really works well for me under Vista64.. yeah, its definitely worth it...
