Though it is trouble shooting for this particular game there are many useful tips on how to access the UAC.

I also got this link for running the needed parts of dx9 when you have dx10.

Thanks for the good info. I always had to select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR when I wanted to play BF2. Now I don't have to every time.
