When I double click on the WoW launcher, the small message window states "preparing to download patch" but never actually downloads it. If I try to connect to the game I get the error message that the patch hasn't been applied. Any ideas?

Got the answer in the WoW tech support forums. In case anybody else has the same problem, goto your WoW folder and right click on the WoW executable and launch as administrator. That forced the download for me.

Open the ports 6112, 6881, 6999 and 3724 all most be set as TCP.
Dadd pogram: Blizzard downloader and Blizzard downloader: 3724.
Use Windows Firewall settings to do al this.
