get ram runnin at proper speed

Look in your bios to see what the speed is. DDR2 memory might be reported at 400 or 333 but it is double data rate, 800 or 666.
The only way you can alter memory speed is in the bios as far as I know.

ahh double rate..gotcha...theres a thing for ddr2-800mhz and a option for 333,400...guess i'll jus do 800 and 400..not knowin the difference...ones the fsb speed i believe

ok totally avoid my previous post...anyways the only option i got is the dram frequency which hasnt changed...its at auto right now but i set it to 800mhz and its only calculating 400.9mhz...now is that how its supposed to be times 2? or is it at 200 X 2

anyways...the 800mhz seems to work faster than auto so i mite keep it like this...even though im not sure

I am interpreting the screenie ar DRAM Frequency =400.9 FSB DRAM 2.3.
400.9 x 2.3 =922.07 This is way out.

Is your rig overclocked or set to normal/turbo

Just downloaded and ran CPU-Z myself, my test results are the same as yours. Dont worry your ram is running at full speed.

My results are identical also (running OCZ 6400 ddr 2x2gb sticks)

BTW the voltage returned at the bottom of the SPD page in cpu-z, is that voltage BEFORE adjustments by the motherboard?

Reason im asking is that im running the OCZ ram on a Gigabyte P35C-DS3R and was told then underclocked voltage by 0.2 so i was to change voltage for the ram byt 0.2. But it says 1.8 on my cpu-z and the pcz is sposed to run at 2.1 so i really need to change it by 0.3....if you get me :D

yeah 400Mhz means DDR2 800.
@Darktounge Cpu-z is usually right but i suggest you stick to the Voltage suggested by OCZ.

The "2" in DDR2 means Double Data Rate. So when your clock says 400, you are running the memory at 800. There is nothing wrong.

BTW i was always lead to believe that DDR ment Double Data Rate and the 2 is now just the 2nd version surely?

OK, CPU-z showing 400MHz is fine. It is DDR so you double the data rate, your memory is running at 800MHz effective.

Also, don't look at the SPD tab on CPU-z as what is running right now. The SPD tab shows the standard settings your RAM *CAN* run at. Of course, that doesn't limit you to overclocking them, but those SPD settings are what the manufacturer puts on the chips as the "default" speeds if you will.
