| Junior Member Rep Power: 8 ![]() | How to 'rate' media files? When opening a folder that contains Media files in Vista 64 a special "Rating" coloumn appears that seems to be adjustable allowing you to rate files from 1-5. How do you change the star rating? |

You can also click on the stars in the information panel at the bottom of the explorer window. Or you could use the rating system in Windows Media Player, same sort of thing. |

If you do what I said to an mp3, you'll see I'm not crazy! The only way that I can see to do it in windows is through windows media player, but that doesn't seem to get reflected in the windows explorer rating column for files that vista can't play natively (like divx), but it works fine for the sample videos in wmv format. |

I scoured the options settings and properties and it appears the rating coloum in Vista's Folder's view is there for no reason whatsoever. Whats the point of having that coloum next to your movies when it rates all of your media 0/5 stars? You cant even shrink the coloum down or drag to save space. |
