Vista Ultimate x64 Random Lockups

Well I built my first pc in about three years, and I have an issue with random lockups.

Specs:
q6600
XFX 680u lt Sli
4GB Corsair (4x1GB 5-5-5-5-18 1.85Volts)
3x Seagate 500GB Sata-II (Running in SataII Removed the pins)
Xfi Gamer
Dlink DWA-552 (Running with Atheos Drivers)
2x XFX 8800 GT (Running in SLI G92 Series)
Coolermaster 750 Watt Power supply

Did the ram thing where I did one stick at a time and lockups still took place.

Removed Souncard and used onboard still locks up

CPU Temps are good (Using Ultra 120)

Disabled onboard ethernet, firewire, all spread spectrums etc so basically no onboard features are set on excluding the basics.

Now i thought it was xfi but tried removing using on board still locks up randomly for no reason, removed wireless card still locks up randomly.

Are there better drivers for the wireless card? Am I possibly doing something wrong?

The lockups are totally random! I could be in a game, surfing the net, idle whatever they just happen.

Yes ran the updates, downloaded the SLI updates 4GB memory update etc.

ANy help would rock though I know its a driver issue as XP Professional (32bit) never had a problem.

Re: Vista Ultimate x64 Random Lockups

I noticing a pattern here, it seems like every post that I see with a random lockup problem has a 680 sli mobo.

Have you tried the latest bios for your mobo?

Re: Vista Ultimate x64 Random Lockups

Have you checked your error logs after one of the lockups, for anything out of the ordinary?

Re: Vista Ultimate x64 Random Lockups

Have you checked your memory with the vista Memory Diagnostic Tool?

I must say I did admit defeat with my 680, I got sick of trying to find the lockup problem and just binned the board

Re: Vista Ultimate x64 Random Lockups

Yes tested the mem one stick at a time, and in pairs, and all 4

No lockup no issues.

What do you mean you binned the board? How do you still run sli without a 680/780

Re: Vista Ultimate x64 Random Lockups

I don't, I only needed the two cards for my four tft's and once you turn SLI on you are reduced to one output

Re: Vista Ultimate x64 Random Lockups

No, the mobo only supports crossfire, but I dont mind as all I need is the ability to run two cards.
