| Junior Member Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Monitor won't wake from Sleep Mode I have tried several different settings and cannot get my monitor to wake up after sleeping for several hours. I have tried hybrid on and off. I have changed various settings in BIOS. I have made sure USB never turns off. I have changed the settings related to PCIe in sleep mode... Nothing works. I have a ABIT IP35Pro Board with an Sapphire 3850 Video card. Any help would be appreciated. RA |

Have you tried turning the monitor off then on. Is it on the same bit of software. List your total spec and what software you are running. Try running in safe mode to see if that changes the problem. |

The PC awakens... I can see hard drive activity etc... It is just the video that is dead. I have the following: Q6600 Abit IP35 Pro Planar PL2011M 4 GB of AData RAM Sapphire 3850 Asus DVD RW 20X Drive 2 Seagate 500Gig Drives Only software running was Firefox (latest 2.x version) Thanks for the reply.... Reseat the graphics card. Update to latest graphics card drivers. Get the latest bios for you motherboard from Abit. Also make sure you have all the latest microsoft updates..this rings a bell and I think that ms had a fix ages ago for this. |

| Junior Member Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Re: Monitor won't wake from Sleep Mode All leads are secure... Latest Mobo bios... Latest video, audio and chipset drivers... Looking around it seems quite a few people are having the same issue. Maybe SP1 will address... Thanks, RA |

| Junior Member Rep Power: 8 ![]() | Re: Monitor won't wake from Sleep Mode I had the same issue I think it has to do with the Bios on the IP-35. Heres some posts of people experiencing the same problem: AnandTech - Abit IP35-E board with bios update 14, does not POST on first try? IP35-E Bios Troubles - Help Please - Universal abit USA Forums http://forums.hexus.net/abit-care-he...e-my-bios.html Updating to Bios version 14 should fix everything what Bios version did you upgrade to? Im still waiting to flash my bios I have to wait for some newegg parts. If you cant get it to work I basically found out how to avoid the freeze alltogether if you want to try: -I find thumping the computer case once not too soft but not too hard will jumpstart my motherboard almost everytime. I turn my mouse on its back to see the light and I'll thump the side of my case and usually after about 20 seconds or after 2 or 3 thumps the mouse red light on the bottom of the mouse will come on at which point gives me the signal to reset the computer then it starts fine usually. -Try keeping a program running in the background (like bittorent) it tends to freeze more if the computer has been idle or shut off for a while I keep one bittorent file that is 9 gigs long but only downloads at 1 kb and my computer rarley freezes now. Either way let me know if you find a permanent fix for this. Last edited by talon191; 01-07-2008 at 05:16 AM. |

| Junior Member Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Re: Monitor won't wake from Sleep Mode I am already at BIOS version 14. The computer wakes from sleep. I see the drive activity and hear the drives spin up etc... It is just the monitor that won't wake. I think that Vista has caused the mobo to kill the PCIe slot.. Or maybe a mobo bios update would cure it... Not really sure. For now I have the sleep mode disabled completely. RA |
