Help!! Vista disk drive stopped working after installing

My disk drive stopped working on a BRAND NEW computer after I installed a program. I installed musicmatch 10 but vista kept saying stuff like "This program has been known to cause problems" or something like that, but it's been installed on plenty of XP machines. I though it might have been just another of Vista's stupid setup warnings, but I dont know what's going on.

Has anyone else had a problem similar to this?

Re: Help!! Vista disk drive stopped working after installing

Hi and welcome to the forum. I believe that Musicmatch 10 is not vista compatible. Nothing to do with vista but with the makers of MMatch. However I found a work around which may help..let me know if it worked:

-right-click the Musicmatch program shortcut on your desktop and select properties
-go to the compatibility tab
-click the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" box, and select "Windows 2000" directly underneath
-also make sure that "Run this program as an administrator" under "Privilege Level" is selected
-not sure if it makes a difference, but I also clicked on "Show Settings for All Users" and made the same selections in the box that pops up
-click the musicmatch icon on your desktop (the one you set properties for) when you want to start the program, and when Vista brings up the "This program has known compatibility issues" box, just click "Run program" and Musicmatch should start fine!
