Battery time remain detection HP 9408

I have an issue with my new laptop (HP Pavilion dv9408ca). I'm running Vista Ultimate 64 and after installing every driver and update for HP and Vista, the battery monitor only shows the percentage and NOT the time remaining. I have never had this issue on my last laptop (Toshiba A100 - Vista Ultimate 32), nor does my brother on his new laptop (Toshiba A200 - Vista Ultimate 32). I took the same sidebar gadget (battery monitor) from our Toshiba laptops and installed it, and it still shows only the percentage. Vista does detect the AC adapter (charging, full charge, no battery just charger), as well as low battery indication. Don't know what to do next.

umm...all the computers or laptops i've used only show the percentage dude...havent really looked at the older laptops..

i dont really see how this is too much of a problem..
you could probably download software for a sensor in your battery...
but i would stick away from that
i do see how this could be a nuisance..
