How to remove malformed files in Vista x64?

Ive tried many many things to remove two malformed files that were installed with a program called SecuROM. Whenever I try to delete them, i get the error they are not found. Same goes if i try to delete the directory they are in.

Anyone know how to do this?

I'm going to guess that you re using Search to find these file and then attempting to delete from there, correct?

If this is the case, then the files you are looking for are no longer there, and you Search Index is out of date. To refresh your index, do the following:
  1. Open control Panel
  2. Click "System and Maintenance"
  3. Click "Indexing Options"
  4. Click "Advanced" (You will need to respond to a UAC prompt)
  5. Click rebuild
The above is best left overnight to complete, as it can take several hours to complete, depending on how files are being indexed.

Re: How to remove malformed files in Vista x64?

I use windows explorer and view the files still on my computer. I even try using command prompt to delete, and even try removing directory thru command prompt. Before attempting to delete with command prompt I list all files in directory and the files show up in the list.

All result in the error that the files are not found, but when I open explorer and go to their location, they are still there.

Check out this other thread i have in a different forum. It has detailed info on this problem I have. http://evga.com/forums/m.asp?m=232296
