| Vista Ultimate 32 bit | Re: Vista x64 troubles how about a "last known good" from the boot menu. Press F8 right at the end of the bios loader screen and choose the last known good boot config menu option. It that doesn't work try safemode or vga mode. |

| Vista Home Premium 64 bit | Re: Vista x64 troubles I notice that you have 4G of RAM. Did you apply KB929777? If you haven't, power off you computer and remove 2G of RAM and power up. PC should boot OK now. Download KB929777 Error message when you try to install Windows Vista on a computer that uses more than 3 GB of RAM: "STOP 0x0000000A" and install. (Be sure to get the KB929777 for your PC. There are two in above link. One is for 32bit systems and other is for 64bit). Power down, replace your RAM and power back up. Chas |

| Vista x64 Ultimate | Re: Vista x64 troubles comp works fine for 2 weeks then breaks - 2 possible causes: a) windows update downloads screwed up driver b) hardware part goes bad your problem is probably related to graphics card. I would borrow an old video card and see if that makes a difference. good luck. |

| Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: Vista x64 troubles Sorry such a late reply, I've been on vacation. I have already tried taking out the sticks of RAM and testing them one at a time and that doesn't seem to be the problem, and also i have 8gb, not 4gb. Have tried last known good configuration also, no go =(. Also, how would i go about formatting my hard drive? Vista isn't seeming to boot from the CD which is the other issue. Edit: I also can't boot into safe mode. Hangs after loading the needed files. Is there any other way besides using another video card to test if the video card is the problem? | Vista Home Premium 64 bit | Re: Vista x64 troubles [quote=theredraven;615606]... and also i have 8gb, not 4gb. The fix I refered to is for RAM in excess of 3G. Boot up with 2G and download fix. Install and then power down. Add rest of RAM and see if it fixes problem. |

| Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: Vista x64 troubles yes i had that installed, i think im going to wait for SP1 to come out for vista. I've been able to restore but the updates keep messing up my computer. Going to do a clean install, install only the few fixes for gaming, and then wait until SP1. CURSE MICROSOFT!!! |
