All Users folder

Under local disk>Users>All Users, its says unspecified (47) and I am the only user on this pc. Why are these listings here? Is it right or do I need to delete. Screenshot

Re: All Users folder

Hi Ronny,

Welcome to Vista Forums.

I'm not sure what the folders with the long numbers belong to. Since the All Users folder is a hidden system folder, you should be careful what you delete in it. You might run Disc Cleanup. If they are junk files, they should be included in Disc Cleanup to be removed. This would be a safer alternative.

Disk Cleanup

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: All Users folder

did the disk cleanup just temp files and logs but nothing to do with this folder, and its not a hidden folder, I have that option set to donot show and the long numbers hold installation for stamps.com program. and the rest seem like program folder but why are they there if they suppose to be hidden? but, since its not bothering anything I guess i better let it alone unless otherwise advise, what you think?

Re: All Users folder

Strange. The All Users folder is a hidden protected operating system folder. You should not be seeing this folder if you do not have the Show hidden files and folders dotted and Hide protected operating system files unchecked. I did notice that you have some folders in the All Users folder set to be shared. This may be why you can see it.

I would not delete them unless you can find out what they belong to, and if it would be safe.

Re: All Users folder

Looking at them closer, they look like programs that have been set to be used by all users on the computer when they were installed. This is why they are set as shared.

The All Users folder is a shortcut to the C:\ProgramData folder. Right click on the ProgramData folder and click Properties to see if Hidden is checked. It should be by default.

Re: All Users folder

Yes, it should remain checked as Hidden.
