Vista - "Optiarc DVD RW AD-5530A ATA Deivce" Wont work

Hey there
My dvd player wont work, i recently did a system restore and was working but it had also previoysly not worked before the restore and it just sorted it self, but here is the error message:

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

Annoying that i cant use any discs . . . i have tried all of the solutions device manager has gave.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem on a Gigabyte Laptop.
Any help available?

"To solve the issue, you have to edit the Windows Registry:
Click Start, then Run, type REGEDT32 and click OK.
Locate and then remove the following registry values:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlCl ***{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}LowerFilters

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlCl ***{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}UpperFilters

Close Registry Editor.
Reboot the system for the changes to take effect.

Note: Some programs are unable to detect the CD/DVD drive after these steps. To solve this, simply re-install the program in question, eg: usually your recording software. Also, in few instances the order in which the programs are (re-)installed can make a difference.

You can buy a new NEC/Sony DVD burner from newegg for less than 30 bucks. Why bother with the headache?
