Windows update always fails

Whenever it gives me updates to install (other than Windows Defender updates) Windows Update will download and install the update and say the installation was successful. It then has me reboot. When I get back into Windows, it says the installation failed.

This has been the rule since I uninstalled the trial version of Office 2007 that came with my laptop.

I have attached my Windows Update log as a text file in a ZIP archive, as it was very large.

Thanks for any help.
