Post your BootUP time

Hey guys from the past few days i have been trying to tweak my system so that i can boot it up under a minute so i thought i would be fun to know all your boot up times

this is the time from the moment you press the power on button on your comp/laptop to the time you are on your desktop and then able right click on the desktop and click refresh.

well heres mine

Time since i installed Vista : 2 months
Boot UP time : 1min 41sec

wow...urs has defintely gotta be better than that...make sure u set ur BIOS to boot ur HDD first and not cds, network, etc..it will save u about 10 sec

installed vista 4 months ago..

Boot UP time- 37 seconds

hey mathews come on man share ur secret ....
most of my time is eaten up after that vista loading bar comes... you know just before the round vista symbol comes...man that gap is heavy

ahh that happens everytime i do a clean install....after the bar goes away there like a 30 sec gap...
i've managed to make that gap like 2 sec now

1) Run Disk Defragment

2) Run Disk Cleanup (Right Click My Computer>>> Properties>>>Disk Cleanup)

3) Download and Run CCleaner CCleaner - Download

4) Download and Run Cleanup www.stevengould.org - CleanUp! 4.5.2 Download (Run This in Thorough Mode by Selecting it in the Options Menu)

5) Open Command Prompt with Administrator and Type in “Chkdsk”

6) Open Command Prompt with Administrator and Type in “sfc /scannow”

7) In your Start menu Search, Type in “Msconfig”, Under the Boot Tab, Make sure the Timeout is at 3 Seconds and That “NO GUI BOOT” is selected. Select “Make all Boot Settings Permanent”

8) “Msconfig” again. Go to Your Startup Tab this time, and select only those programs that you want running when you turn on your Computer

9) Download and Run Tune-up Utilities 2008 (I recommend you Purchase the Full Version) Run All the Utilities within the program. TuneUp International - TuneUp Utilities 2008

10) Hit the “Del Key” or F10 key when your Computer is Booting up to enter the BIOS. In the Bios, go under the Boot Tab>>>Boot Device Priority>>>Set your HDD at the Top.

11) Install Vista SP1

12) Go to “Device Manager”, Under Your Hard Drives, Right Click them>>>Go to Policies and Check (Enable Advanced Performance)

13) Control Panel>>>System and Maintenance>>>Power Options>>>High Performance.

You’re good to go!
