| Ultimate 32bit | What do you guys think of this ? So I am still deliberating whether I should switch to Vista x64 or not. I found this article which could be an interesting read for some of you who heavily work with applications like Adobe Photoshop and such. It's written by Photoshop's co-architecht Scott Byer: Living Photoshop: 64 bits...when? Personally I would much rather wait until they release a 64-bit version of their suite than install x64 now and reinstall it again after a year when all these apps and probably many others also adopt 64-bit. What's everyone's take on this ? |

| Vista Ultimate x86-32 SP1 dual boot with Windows XP SP3 | Re: What do you guys think of this ? Dude, I for one, am just itching to install Vista x64! 64 bit computers are being sold from 2003 but the s/w field has hardly caught up. I dont remember XP64 being released anywhere before, what, 2005? Or is it 2006? We have the hard ware and now, even the drivers but if there's no software to realise this potential, its just a waste of our hard earned money that we invested in our computers. We were better off with our 32 bit friends. At least they didn't cause as much problems as the new ones cause! |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: What do you guys think of this ? 64 bit Vista will run all 32 bit Vista programs. The main thing that you need to make sure of is that you have 64 bit versions for all of your device drivers. The 32 bit versions will not work in 64 bit Vista. Plus, of course you will need a 64 bit CPU. ![]() If you have all this, then I would say go for the 64 bit Vista. It runs faster and supports more RAM. Hope this helps in your decision, Shawn |
