vistax64 loading problem

have amd64 dual core motherboard, running vistax64. vista told us to do somthing to improve operation and restart computer. when tried to restart computer it would not even turn on. so removed battery from mother board to reset to factory settings. computer then would turn on, but after first screen telling system, got loading bar. it finished, but didnot beep. got clicking sounds and screen went blank. and would not load freather. can anyone help?

hi...... i dont see how clearing the cmos would have anything to do with vista...:sarc:
but if it asked u to reboot and now it wont work it could be software related ..bad driver or something else u downloaded

check your PSU is not degrading by swapping it if possible it happens quite a bit :)

i do believe that the was the screen that told you about the performance issue

(1) Removing the battery from the motherboard removed your Bios.

(2) You will have to re-flash your Bios to get your computer to function again.

(3) If you don't know how to do that, or (especially) don't kow what the Bios is, take your computer to a repair shop and have a technician there do it for you.

(4) Regarding removing the battery: This "advice" is analogous to knocking the foundation out from under your house because you misplaced the key to the front door. So go back to whoever told you that and kick him in the nutz. HARD

Removing the battery from the CMOS will NOT wipe it. It will reset it to the factory defaults so DO NOT REFLASH IT.

Sounds Like an update went bad, try restoring your bios to its previous settings such as date and other settings.
Try booting with the vista cd in the drive and doing a repair then restoring to a time before this happened.
Alternitive is to try and boot into safe mode. If this works it will be easier to bring your computer back to life.
