Desktop personalization question.

Hello all!

When you change the desktop background picture there is a drop down menu "Picture Location".
I have a few paths that I do not want to show up on the drop menu.

My question is: How do I get rid of some of the folders that are currently on that list? I want them off that list only.

Re: Desktop personalization question.

Hi Fert,

Welcome to Vista x64 Forums.

I believe they should drop off on their own when you select a different type of Desktop Background from a different location.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: Desktop personalization question.

Hello Brink,

This does not appear to be the case. The drop menu consists of more than 15 different locations already. Is there some kind of "cut off" number?

Thanks.

Re: Desktop personalization question.

Fert,

I'm not sure what the cut off is, but when I change from say a Windows Wallpapers to a Solid Colors type of desktop background and click OK, it removes the extra location areas from the Picture Location drop down menu. I then just change it back.

Re: Desktop personalization question.

Hmmm...mine is not doing that. ALL of the folders I have ever selected a background from are still showing up.

Re: Desktop personalization question.

Fert,

I must admit that I'm stumped. Perhaps clearing all of your temp files will help.

Sorry,
Shawn

Re: Desktop personalization question.

Hey chumplet,
This did not work either. I deleted the reg keys and restarted...the paths are still showing up in the drop menu. This is really strange! You would think that if you removed the reg key for that component, or what have you, they would be gone!?

Thanks anyways!
