Newbie needs help

Hello,

I got a problem and it go's like this.

Fired up Friday morning,(at shutdown Thursday all was well)and came on OK,then went black and went into safe mode, went black then came back as normal then shut itself down and came back with wallpaper shrunk showing an inch and a half border of desktop, which had changed from blue ripples to black.

Web pages are smaller type and graphics, and stretched to fit screen.

Tried system restore,(I had'nt set a restore point,DOH.)ran Norton,Adaware and tried settings for monitor and appearence.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in anticipation.

Re: Newbie needs help

Some of the symptoms you describe are similar to what I experienced after installing IE8 beta. Shortly after launching it my active window shrunk, all the icons on my desktop got smaller, my mouse didn't work properly. I unistalled it and could set everything back to normal.

Did you install any new software the day before or the day of your problem?
