MP3 Thumnail Issue

Hello All,
I have searched for this issue and found problems sort of close to mine, but none of their fixes resolved my issue, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I am running Vista Home Premium 32bit on a Gateway MT6919 Laptop.

I am very particular about my music library, and Vista has a great feature displaying embedded album art in MP3 files. This feature used to work on my laptop, but it does not display the embedded art in the MP3 file anymore. I know the album art is still embedded, as I have other programs that can display/add the art.

Recently, I noticed that only some of the MP3 files would show the embedded album art in Windows Explorer, and I noticed new files created would not show it. I researched a reason why this was happening, tried many things, but nothing has worked yet. One thing I did try was to clear the thumbnail cache. All this did was remove all thumbnails of my MP3 album art, and now Vista will not rebuild those thumbnails. Thumbnails of other file types show up, but not music types.

So basically, Vista *used to* display and cache embedded album art in my music files up until a certain date. I'm sure this can be fixedd without reinstalling Vista. I'm hoping someone here can tell me how to restore this feature in Vista. Thank you for your time and any assistance would be greatly appreciated. If you need any additional information, I can provide it.

Thank you,
Robert

i have the same problem sort of. some of my thumbnails show up and others don't. when i use itunes, all my art is there but not while i'm viewing them in explorer. i'm a stickler about how things are displayed and i'd like a little continuity (i know its stupid but thats how i roll!).
