default .ico settings

default .ico settings

hi all

I just installed Vista and i'm trying to restore de default .ico settings. In Win XP I can see the file.ico default icon but in Vista i can't see the icon. I've search on the net, but nothing

Have you installed any third-party image viewers (such as AcdSee) that has changed the default display for icons? This is the only action that could possibly cause the symptoms you describe...

Hi LS,

Downloading the ico link in the box here may be able to help you. Just click on the ico.

I installed ACDSee and I couldn't restore the ico settings. In Win WXP i could select the filetypes I wanted to register, in Vista they were selected and I couldn't deselct them

If you just wanted to unassociate the ICO file extension, then this will show you how to.

Unassociate File Extention Type

However the link above should be able to restore the defaul ICO associations.
