Fear and loathing in memory support

Hey you members, I come in peace with a piece of _ problem to start off this lovely week. The symptoms are as follows:

1. Every now and then I get a message saying "Superfetch has stopped working." This has happens enough that I've gone into services and made sure it restarted every time it quit instead of just the first 2.
2. Every now and then I get a blue screen and auto-restart saying something about MEMORY MANAGEMENT.
3. Sometimes the blue screen says something about a PFL(?) LIST ERROR.
(I'll get the error codes next time it happens, possibly before I finish this message).
4. On startup, sometimes I get a black screen that says not enough physical memory to bootup.
5. I ran the Memory Diagnostics Tool which (after taking forever) told me there was a "problem with my hardware" and to "contact your computer manufacturer" which is far too ambiguous to help me at all.
6. Everything is really sluggish, especially considering I have 4Gs of Crucial DDR2 running at 800mhz.
7. Programs often tell me they don't have enough memory to complete a task.
8. I ran PCMark05 and tested my memory, all tests were passed.

And here are my specs:
EVGA 590 SLi AMD Mobo.
2x2x1GB UNBUFF PC2-8500 DDR2 RAM
Windows Vista Ultimate x64 OS

If you have any ideas please help. I get a sickish feeling each time the blue screen attacks that time is running out.

Hi Gaurki,

Welcome to Vista x64 Forums.

You could have a faulty RAM stick. I would test this by removing one of them at a time and testing them separately to see if you get the errors anymore afterwards. Plus, run the Memory Diagnostics test again on each one to.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
I took out all the sticks and ran the diagnostics test for each one I put back in and it ended up never detecting any errors. So hopefully one of the sticks just had a bad connection and it's fixed now.

Or...the voltages were wrong. I also decreased the memory voltage in setup lower than the recommended 2.2v since the sticks are slightly under-clocked. Seems you need to be a rocket scientist to build a decent computer these days.

Gaurki, hopefully that will do it and you will not get any more BSOD.
