Hi zero97537,

Have you tried running Disk Cleanup to see if it removes them? It will usually have some kind of option to clean left over installation files.

If not, try taking ownship of the files first, then see if you are able to delete them.

Hope this helps you,

Why don't you just backup all your data (e-mail, documents, pictures, music, favorites etc) and format the partition at setup ?

If you don’t have your personal data to worry about, then the best thing to is to reinstall Vista as a new install and when you get to the prompt to choose the drive, click on advanced and delete the partition and then recreate it. Or using windows explore, open each folder and select all and delete. And anytime you get to a file that you can’t delete, unselect it and delete the rest. You will end up with only few files on you system that you can’t delete. Disconnect from the Internet to avoid getting viruses, stop all the services and then see if you can delete the rest.
The problem that you’re having is that the system is still keeping some files open within those folders and that is why you can’t delete those folders. Good Luck.
