Hi
Any ideas on where I should look. Dell Inspirion boots, seems to load right up to blue welcome screen, then reboots and continues looping. Will not auto fix, or load saved points. This is the log
With Del boot/recovery disk, choosing Startup repair, the report is as follows:
Problem Signature:
01 : External Media
02: 6.0.6000.16836.6.0.6000.16836
03 : 6
04: 786442
05: NoBootFailure
06: No BootFailure
07 : 0
08: 2
09: WrpRepair
10: 16839

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a hanging driver or startup program, probably a 3rd party one.
Boot to Safe Mode (tap F8 on startup, choose Safe Mode), and if you can boot safe mode it's something other than a windows problem. Once in Safe Mode go to Control Panel - system - advanced system settings - click "startup" button and then uncheck the "automatically restart" box, then reboot.
You should now get a BSOD that you need to copy EXACTLY and post here so we can see wat it tells us.

Or if you're into troubleshooting it yourself and you can boot to safe mode, open msconfig (run box, type msconfig - enter), on the General tab unselect "Load Startup Items" and then try to boot. If windoes boots properly, you know one of the startup programs is causing it so then you recheck that button on General tab and then go to the Startup tab and try disabling every startup one at a time until you find the one that causes it to fail.

If that's not it, then try unchecking the Load Services" tab and try again.

Thanks, good info, BUT even in Safe mode it loops back to reboot.
Can I edit with dos any startup script?
I have Active@Boot disk which has a "notepad" editor I can use.
It has a "windows Explorer lookalike" to view and search directories.
It is a pity "MSconfig" could not be run.
Thanks:(
