Hello all,

I have a Dell XPS M1710 notebook currently with 2GB RAM and Vista 32-bit. This laptop uses the Intel 945PM chipset. Dell and Intel both state that the laptop supports up to 4GB of RAM. Now, with Vista x64, will I see all 4GB or less if I upgrade? I've read a couple places stating that my BIOS will need to support Memory Remapping.

Thoughts?

Welcome to the Vista Forums

Dell has some pretty good support for their products. I'd check their support web site for your model computer and see what's available. Is this a new laptop?

I also own a Dell (desktop) and know their support center allows you to specify what model of computer you have and it will tell you if any updates are available for it. I'd pay close attention to any BIOS updates for your model laptop. Use caution with BIOS updates. If it's not done exactly right, you can render your computer useless. Check out whats available and let us know.
