Java will not run unless run as admin

I cannot get java to work unless I run IE7 as admin. I've installed and uninstalled the latest JAVA. It works perfect in run as admin. I created a new account on my machine and it works as it should. OS vista 32 ultimate sp1, I think it started after update to sp1. Do I have a corrupt registry?

Re: Java will not run unless run as admin

Hi LennyP,

You will need to install the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 5 from here instead if you have not already. For your version of Vista, be sure to download the Windows Platform version on top.

Java SE Downloads

If you have, then I'm not sure why you would have to use Run as administrator on IE7.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Hi,
I tried that, but still no java on old account without run as admin, the new account I created still works fine. Oh well.
Thanks,
Lenny

Weird quirk. I would just delete the old account and just stick with the new one.
